Netball 2010/2011

The Kowloon Netball Club would like to welcome all new and returning players for the 2010/2011 season.  Our club is one of the youngest clubs in the League and we pride ourselves on playing competitively whilst maintaining the spirit of the game as well as the club.  Whether you are a seasoned netballer, a first time player or someone just looking to meet new people all new members are welcome.

Kowloon netball entered for the third year in the HKNA League and were pleased that we where able to register two teams for the 2009/2010 season.

Our 3rd division team the Kowloon Sapphires ended up finishing 3rd on the league table out of 12 teams which was a fantastic effort by the girls.  We saw a number of new girls enter this team last season and we showed a great deal of talent and team spirit week after week.  We had a number of people available for each position and everyone played equally well no matter what combination we had on court.  The Sapphires managed to beat every team at least once throughout the season and we showed the league that the Kowloon club is on the rise.

Our 4th division team the Kowloon Diamonds made great headway this past season and ended up finishing 5th in their league.  We had a lot of new players with varying skill levels join this team last season and I think the combination of experienced and new players really helped this team fulfil their potential.  There was more focus on court and they worked extremely well together to get some great wins on the board.

I’d like to thank both Captains Maeve McGivern (Diamond’s) and Katie Miller (Sapphires’) for their organisation of the teams and to all the umpires for giving up their time throughout the year.

We are always looking at increasing our netball players and would like to see a third team entered into the HKNA League for the 2010/2011 season.  If you wish to join our club, please register per the instructions on the registration page.  The date of our first pre-season training session is yet to be determined but the club will be notified in due course.  We will not be holding any trails for members of the club, however teams will be selected based on skill and experience shown throughout the pre-season training sessions.

We look forward to further establishing our club within the HKNA league and playing some competitive netball.

Good luck to all players!
